A Transformer "Replaces" a Substation

At the recent Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Innovation Award Conference, the UHV 1000 kV Generator Boost Transformer Development and Application Demonstration Project led by UHV Hengyang Transformer Co., Ltd. won the first prize of Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2017. The technical application of this project fills the blank of the world where the power supply voltage is 27 kV and 1000 kV. The core device of the project is UHV generator boost transformer, whose "energy" is equivalent to a 500 kV substation.


Previously, 27 kV output voltage needed to be boosted through a 500 kV substation before it could reach 1000 kV voltage level, while the construction of a 500 kV substation required land requisition of about 200 mu, capital of about 1 billion yuan, and construction period of about one year.


The successful implementation of the demonstration project on the development and application of UHV 1000 kV generator booster transformer solves the technical problem of "one-stop boost" when 27 kV output voltage is connected to UHV 1000 kV power grid, realizes the development of the world's first 1000 kV generator transformer, the world's first 1000 kV power supply voltage boost system research, and the world's first 1000 kV power supply voltage boost technology project. Use.


The relevant person in charge of Hengchang Company introduced that the core technological innovation content of the project is the development of UHV large capacity generator boost transformer. On May 29, 2015, the project was successfully put into operation at Pingwei Power Plant in Huainan, Anhui Province, and has been running safely and steadily for nearly three years. The project results are currently being planned to "replicate" to Shanxi, Hebei, Inner Mongolia and other places to provide technical support for the intensive transportation strategy of large-scale energy bases in China.
